I miss my husband...

So, the past few days have been kind of bad for me anyway, but the internet on his end seems to be worse than normal. Our webcams don't load as quickly, or he isn't able to connect at all (or keeps getting disconnected). So it's been rough all around, and this morning I really wanted to talk to him and true to that need the internet decided it didn't want to work. Even before I woke up I could see how many times he had been knocked offline since 2:45 in the morning, so I knew my chances were not good - oh well.

Today is supposed to be rainy with a high in the 50's, so not as nice as yesterday but I checked and the same weather is supposed to be happening where he is. It makes me feel closer when the weather is the same...almost like we're in the same zip code.

So today my plans include working, gearing to get Simply Whimsy open (because it hasn't been long enough already?), work on some proofs, and studying for exams and quizzes this coming week. My hope is that at some point he'll be able to get online.

I love my husband.

Busy little bee

With everyone sick including my grandmother, I have been away from my studio and now that I'm back utterly exhausted. However today I found some time to create a new design with a fun little friend:
I also officially announced my plans to sell on Simply Sweet Announcements as a wholesale/resale store only. This will begin April 1, and I will officially open Simply Whimsy Stationery then, too. Simply Whimsy will have a more boutique feel to it. I'm very excited.

You rush a miracle man, you get rotten miracles...

Tonight I have been studying for my last final which is at 10:45am today (who needs sleep anyway?), and true to my studying nature I've had movies on in the background. Thus far I've "watched" Mean Girls, The Princess Bride, and now The Notebook. I absolutely adore those movies. Well, I love lots of movies, and I think I finally have a favorite actress. She's in the first and last movie from tonight, and she's in another of my favorites, The Wedding Crashers. Her name is Rachel McAdams, and I think if I could meet any actress she would be it. For a favorite actor, I'm not sure yet. That's still debatable, but maybe I'll find one.

The coming week I'll be working on some of my illustrations and working with Illustrator, so hopefully I can post some updates on here. Maybe some freebies for those who read my blog.

Now it's back to vectors, but I will post updates later today on how my exam went.

Week Eight

I'm halfway through week eight, and I'm super excited this quarter is almost over. I am really looking forward to spring break, and I'm excited about having a few days to sleep in. Next quarter I will hopefully be starting some research for the physics department as well as taking more engineering courses and math courses. This will be the first quarter in a while with no physics, and I'm kind of looking forward to the break especially since I'll be doing the research, too.

I've got some new projects I'm working on. The message board for Signature School has finally opened. The whole website will hopefully be open in about two weeks, and it will be wonderful. If you're interested in advertising, please let me know. We're offering free advertising until May. You can contact me at April@Signature-School.com for information regarding that.

My website!

I absolutely can't wait to unveil the new website design. I'm waiting on the security certificate to be updated, so that way your information is kept safe. I will be updating with more information tomorrow hopefully.

Crazy thing called emotions

So, I took Grant to the airport yesterday morning. We left here at roughly 4am to head out, and for the most part there were minimal delays. We did see deer on the way, so from then on I drove slowly until we got to the highway. Because it was so early the highway was fairly clear, and that was nice. While I was on the way to pick him up two accidents happened, and driving through there was horrendous (not to mention it was lunch hour).

After dropping him off I came home and slept for a while before getting up again and running errands. One of my errands included creating something very similar to this:

Order Shipping Center

I absolutely LOVE it. I love reading Nicole Balch's blog, too. She and I have very different styles, but she has fantastic organization skills that work to her advantage. Once I have put the finishing touches on my shipping center I'll post photographs. While the shipping center will be great for now, it will find more use once I have the studio to put it in.

I also purchased gift wrap and ribbon from a wholesale store here, and I plan to offer gift wrapping for Simply Sweet Announcements now. I'm still working out the details for it and how I want to run things. I'm planning on offering a bunch of new things at the beginning of the year, but I'm also going unveil some new products this month. Be on the look out!

So while I'm missing Grant terribly, I'm working really hard to keep myself busy, so that I get a lot accomplished and don't sit around sad for too long.

So close

It's getting very close to when Grant goes home, and while I'm trying not to focus on it too much it makes me sad. I've really enjoyed his trip out here this time, and I am so glad we got to spend so much time together. I'm very thankful for that, and I look forward to our time together over the next few days.

He's here!

He's here, and I'm so excited. He made the best chilli ever this morning - delicious. Then we went over to Lou and Nicole's and got to see little "Stevsie" their son. He's adorable. We have plans to hang out on Saturday, too.

Tomorrow, well today, I have two exams that I'm going to spend the next few hours studying for. Wish me luck. I can't wait until they're over with.

T minus 13 hours!

I'm so excited. It's getting sooo close to his arrival, but I must focus. I need to tidy up some and study more, and then pick out the most glamorous outfit I can find without being too over the top.

Time is going slow and fast at the same time. Yipee!!

Exam Crunch Time

So studying began Sunday night after I returned home, and then it's been sporadically occuring ever since. I'm currently in the process of making some brain food before beginning again. Biot-Savart Law, Webers (no, those are not fins - although I wish), right hand rules, and oh my! I think I'll be prepared. After tomorrow morning though, I will need to shift my focus to studying for my Spanish exam that is Wednesday morning. Then I'm off to pick up Grant from the airport.

Also, on a side note, I'd purchased a humidifier, and for whatever reason I can never purchase one that works the first time. So I will need to return that tomorrow, too. So much for soft skin, but hopefully the one I'll get tomorrow will work.

Until next time..
